Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Naomi Osaka – Tennis Betting Tips

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia will play against Naomi Osaka of Japan on the first quarterfinal match scheduled at the Hong Kong Tennis Open. This will be the first time that these two players will face each other in a WTA tournament. The more experienced and higher ranked Pavlyuchenkova is the favorite to win this match against the young Japanese player. Let’s see if their forecast on this fixture will be proven right.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

26 year old Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia is currently ranked No.21 in the world. She reached her highest ranking of No.13 way back in 2011 when she was just 20 years old. It was during this year where she first reached the quarterfinals of two Grand Slam events (French and US Opens). After this, she struggled to main her consistency in tournaments. It was only during the later part of 2015 that her form improved again.

This year, Pavlyuchenkova now has a 37-21 win loss record coming to this match. Majority of her wins came from the hard surface which is also the same surface on this event. She already has three final appearances for this season. She won the title in her first final in Monterrey by beating former world No.1 Angelique Kerber. Just a month after that, she won her second title in Rabat. This was also her first clay tournament for this year. And several weeks ago, she had her third final appearance in Tokyo. Unfortunately she failed to win the title there. She lost to Caroline Wozniacki in the final. Let’s see if she can also make it to the final here in Hong Kong.

Naomi Osaka

19 year old Naomi Osaka of Japan is ranked No.64 in the world right now. This is only her third year of playing professional tennis. She made her debut in the Bank of the West Classic in 2014. Unfortunately, she lost her opening match there against Samantha Stosur. Last year, she made her first final appearance in a WTA tournament at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in her home country Japan. Unfortunately, she lost to former world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki in the final.

This year, Osaka continues to make progress in her tennis career. She made it to the third round in Wimbledon and the US Open. These are her best results on these Grand Slam events so far. She also reached the quarterfinals in Auckland last January. Now, she’ll be playing on her second quarterfinal match for this year.
