Grigor Dimitrov vs David Goffin – Tennis Betting Tips

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria will play against David Goffin of Belgium on the final match of the ATP Tour Finals in London. Dimitrov is seen as the favorite to win here. He has won seven of his past eight meetings with Goffin. This year alone they met four times. He won three of those four encounters. The only time he lost against the Belgian was in their quarterfinal match in Rotterdam early this year. He lost that match in three sets 6-4 1-6 6-3. But he was able to bounce back from that loss in their group stage match here in London. He easily won against Goffin 6-0 6-2. Could he do a repeat of that win on this match?

Grigor Dimitrov

Grigor Dimitrov was able to overcome Jack Sock in the semis to advance to the final. But unlike his last two matches against Goffin and Busta, he had a tough time on his match against the American. He lost the opening set 4-6. Fortunately, he was able to bounce back on the next two sets and win them 6-0 6-3. After he scored a very easy win against Goffin several days ago, many see Dimitrov as the top favorite to win this match. If he could meet their expectations, he’ll be winning the biggest title of his career on this event.

Dimitrov is just a first timer on this tournament so only a few thought he has a big chance to win the title in the beginning. But after the withdrawal of Nadal and the loss of Federer in the semis, Dimitrov is now heavily favored to take home the title here.

David Goffin

Goffin put a sad end to Federer’s magical season by defeating him in the semis of this event. Many expected Federer to march on to the final but he Goffin gave him a very tough challenge. He lost the first set 2-6, but was able to win the next two 6-3 6-4 to advance. Their match lasted an hour and 45 minutes. Before this, Goffin also beat world No.1 Rafael Nadal in a three set thriller 7-6(5) 6-7(4) 6-4. Beating the top two players in the world was a huge achievement for anyone on this event. The last time someone was able to do the same in this event happened way back in 2009. Nikolay Davydenko was able to do the same to Nadal and Federer.

Goffin has only won once against Dimitrov, and he wasn’t even able to put up a good fight in their first meeting here. But his performance against Federer in the semis is something to take note of. If he’ll be able to play like that again, he’ll surely have a big chance to win against Dimitrov.

Our Predictions

Dimitrov is the favorite to win this match, but for my betting tips I’ll take a huge risk and back Goffin. After he won against Federer, I think he now has a good chance to beat Dimitrov again. This is very risky pick, but I think it’s worth it.

Prediction: David Goffin, 3.150 @ Pinnacle
